U.S. would donate three shots for each shot administered at home.
On Wednesday, President Biden announced that he would be doubling the number of COVID-19 vaccines that the United States would be donating to underdeveloped countries around the world. In total, the U.S. would donate one billion doses worldwide, enough to vaccinate 500,000,000 people. His goal is to have 70% of the world vaccinated by the end of 2022.
“To beat the pandemic here, we need to beat it everywhere,” the president said during a joint session with the United Nation’s Secretary-General. He went on to say, “For every one shot we’ve administered to date in America, we have now committed to do three shots to the rest of the world.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Biden to seek God’s direction on how to address the waning pandemic.
- For the State Department to have wisdom on how to distribute the donated vaccines.
- For the president’s administration as they interact with foreign leaders.
